An original rap by Nathan
When you can't sleep
you have to count sheep
then you won't make a peep.
You can get a sheep
from Little Bo Peep
and she gets it from Old MacDonald's farm.
There was more, but I was laughing too hard to remember all of it.

This weekend (1/26), and beyond!
(said in my best Buzz Lightyear voice).
This weekend is going to be awesome and action-packed.
Saturday: Nathan's first Pinewood Derby starts at 9am. I don't know when his car will run. Littlest kids go last, so maybe around 10:30-11? I don't want to take responsibility for that estimate, though, in case it happens before and someone misses out. He's super excited. Weigh-in is Thursday night. Last night we had to do a little emergency shaving of the feet because it was over the maximum weight by an eighth of an ounce. I need to find a shoebox. Last night Brendan helpfully volunteered to be the recipient of new soccer cleats if we really needed a box that badly. Children.
Sunday, Brendan has a game at Lodi at 9am - field one (white uniforms). We have to be there at 8:30 for warm-up, which means we have to leave the house at 7:45, which means we have to get up at . . . well, I don't even want to think about that.
Also, the schedule has been updated to add more games, as follows:
Sunday, February 3 - 8am - Lodi field 1 - vs. Internationals (omg, see whining above and subtract an hour)
Saturday, February 9 - 11:30 - Lodi field 2 - vs. Ambassadors
Saturday, February 23 - 10:30 - Lodi field 2 - vs. NEO
That should pretty well round out our Winter II schedule. There's at least one tournament in there as well, and likely one or two more games.

My eldest son
is celebrating MLK day by kicking around a soccer ball at a 3v3 tournament at Diamond. The little one is hanging out with grandparents. Mike's coaching. I'm working.
I'll report back with tournament results. Their first game should be starting in about a half hour!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update: 2-2 tie against Alliance team. Brendan got a goal! Yay!
1-4 loss against other Canton United team.
4-5 loss against North Canton team. They were down 1-5 but had a late rally that just wasn't quite enough.
He had a good time, though!

This weekend (1/19)
So, this weekend, just to shake things up a bit, soccer is on Sunday!
Sunday, January 20, 2013 - 10:00 am - Lodi (indoor), field 1. Stripe uniforms. We're playing the Whitecaps, which are one of the best teams in the league. Sadly, we'll probably get crushed. But every time the boys are playing together better and better!
Also:
Monday, MLK day, B is participating in a 3-on-3 soccer tournament at Diamond, if anyone is interested. Not sure what the exact schedule is, but I know they're guaranteed three games, and starting around 9am. I'll try to update if Mike finds out more specific info about the schedule.

Merry Christmas
Some belated Christmas pictures of my adorable little boys:
The handsomest brothers to ever exist. Mike took the boys' formal Christmas portraits at home this year. It was a resounding success.
Checking out all of their stocking loot.
Trying out his new back scratcher :)
SO excited Santa came!
And, in reverse chronological order, spreading special reindeer food on Christmas Eve.
Kiwi got coal, in case anyone was wondering. Actually, that's not true. She got a toy. That we lost. So we had to put up a circular seed treat thing we had in the Animal Cupboard for just such an emergency. She's terrified of it, though. Screamed her head off for three days straight about it, then finally managed to figure out how to pitch it onto the floor of her cage. She sure showed it!

Are you ready for some . . . Pinewood Derby Racing?
Somehow that just doesn't have the same ring to it.
Anyway, Saturday January 26, 2012, starting at 9:00 am, at the usual place. Natey's car is already nearly done, and it's going to be very cool. Hope to see everyone there to support him and cheer him on!
I think they're going to follow the same format as last year - big kids go first. So that means Nate's first race probably won't be until later - around 10:00 or 10:30? Hard to predict, though. Call if you need details.
In other news, I'm finally starting to recover from the Great and Terrible Flu of 2013. This is horrible. I have never been this sick in my entire life. Please, do yourself a favor and go get a flu shot!
