Now he's indoctrinating the kids, too.
Because every 11 year-old needs a professional-grade camera :) Oh well. At least I'll probably have some great photos of my grandkids someday.

I was wrong.
Who knew? First time for everything, I suppose :)
Anyhoo, there is going to be one more regular-season game for indoor soccer. Next Saturday, March 31, at 9:00 am, Lodi field.
8809 Lake Road
Seville, Ohio 44273
Phone: 330-769-7622
(for being an enormous building, it's in a slightly obscure location and a little difficult to find, so call them or our cell phones if you get lost).
They're playing the other U-11 team from the same club (the blue team). And everyone is driving to Lodi to do so. Isn't that the dumbest thing you've ever heard? Oh well. We'll be there. Hope to see everyone!

GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday, Brendan scored his first goal with this team! In fact, I'm fairly sure it was the first goal he's scored since he left Y-league, because the clubs he's been playing with since then seem to have put him in more of a defender role. And not only did he score, but he did it with determination and skill. He took the ball to the goal, took a shot that didn't go in, got the ball back, and then followed up with a shot that sailed right past the goalie! It was so exciting I thought my heart was going to stop!
Unfortunately, no photos. The camera couldn't focus through the white mesh barrier around the field. But we'll remember it in our heads forever!
Way to go, Bren!
I have some photos to post from the Arrow of Light ceremony soon.

Soccer Saturday
Mar 17, 2012, 3:00pm to 4:00pmSoccer Sportsplex
31515 Lorain Road, North Olmsted 44070
Edited to add:
FYI, this is going to be the last game of the regular winter season. There's a tournament scheduled for April, but otherwise, the next regular game will not be until the outdoor spring season begins. Also, it's my understanding that all of the Spring games will be played at the Lodi complex. I'll provide updates on those as I receive them.

Reminder! Crossover ceremony coming up!
Mar 15 Blue & Gold Banquet @ John Knox Church
6:30-8:00· Arrow of Light Ceremony· Crossover to Boy Scouts·
Display Shadow Boxes & Arrows· Class A uniforms· Cake &
Refreshments
Hope to see everyone there!
It's so hard to believe that this:
has grown up and turned into this:
This tall, handsome . . . young man. Not even a shred of baby left in that kid's body.
I was finishing up his shadow box for the crossover ceremony last night and a scrapbook page for the always-awesome and totally dedicated Mr. Wulff, and I got a little misty going over some of the photos of the awesome adventures we've had over the past four years. You may have seen some of these before, but there's no harm in repeats:
And the amazing friends we've made . . .

Mardi Gras
We pretty much take every opportunity to celebrate something fun, so every year we have a kid-friendly mardi gras party. Usually it's a little more elaborate, but this year we only had an hour before we had to go to soccer, so we worked with what we had :)
My Bug.
My all of a sudden gigantic grown-up child.
Ignore the wrinkly tablecloth.
Instead, focus on the adorabless. Or the delicious gumbo that I made. Whichever, really.
Too many masks, not enough people to wear them.
Nathan, making his prediction about which piece of cake had the gumball. We didn't have a baby jesus handy, and 1) I'm always a little worried about the kids choking on it or breaking a tooth and 2) isn't that a little weird? In our house, if you find the gumball (jelly bean, random dried navy bean that Mama found in the cupboard, etc), you're King for the day and get to choose which TV show to watch before bed.
Brendan's turn to predict.
Guess who was right? And also, guess who sweetly gave his little brother the gumball so he'd stop crying?
They're both pretty awesome. I think we'll keep them.
